Marketing has been continuously changing since the start of the 20th century. As a result, marketing has advanced through five phases that are presently employed in nearly all organizations.  The concept of marketing instigated in the cutting-edge of pre-1920’s after efficiency became a top priority. Starting from the 1950s onwards was defined as a marketing error. During the 1990s the marketing has been based on establishing a significant relationship with their customers.

Changes that Will Affect the Marketing Field in the Next Decade

Amazon’s and Google’s marketing is likely to be affected by technology in the next ten years. Because of the extensive and useful use of technology, amazon’s use of technology in focusing the customers’ needs will make amazon more successful during the 2020s (Rossof 2019). On the other hand, Google marketing is likely to undergo substantial changes under the influence of technology. For instance, voice search will be a norm in the 2020s instead of the word search that is commonly used.

Tariffs

Amazon is likely to have decreased tariffs in the next ten years. The introduction of robots in amazon’s various sectors is expected to result in reduced cost of production, an aspect that would amount to decreased tariffs. The robots are likely to substitute a larger part of the workforce required in the amazon industry from various production sectors. On the other hand, among other companies, Google is facing substantial discrimination from America and the European Union, an aspect that suggests increased tariffs for the next decade (Chathamhouse.org, 2020).
