citizenship
Every individual has a desire for a better life and so do the immigrants. They also desire to secure a better and future for themselves and citizenship. They will always try to seek permanent residence since they are always tired of their previous backgrounds. Allowing them a path to citizenship, which can also be referred to as amnesty, can be said to be right based on ethical background or perspective. It is ethics that help us in determining what is right and wrong. Ethics plays a role in guiding our actions, describes our values, and explains the reasons for the kind of people we are (3).
I would argue that allowing the immigrants a path to citizenship is not wrong. The process allows undocumented individuals to become citizens and also allows them to be in the country legally. This gives them a sense of love, ownership, and belonging as they are warmly received. Despite being legal, the amnesty does not allow them to receive equal rights as the citizens, and this keeps them on the right track as they will not engage themselves in illegal activities. Additionally, by allowing them citizenship, they are not subjected to deportation since they are legally in the country. Their law-abiding nature will also support Their stay. It is also right to offer them citizenship since they will be authorized to work. The immigrants seek refuge in the US in search of jobs, and they are always prepared to take any form of work, whether it is low paid or even low skilled jobs. Additionally, the amnesty helps in promoting a richer and more diverse culture in the country. People interact freely with each other. Besides, by allowing them citizenship, they will be able to freely travel in and out of the country without formal restrictions. The other positive reason for allowing amnesty is that the immigrants will help in reducing labor shortages. Their numbers will be used to provide labor.
Children brought into the country illegally should not be deported. This is because they were not brought into the country on their consent. They are innocent and will only follow what they are being told as the best advice. They should be held in government facilities until they acquire a legal age. It is from here that the government may decide if they’ll allow them to become citizens or not.
