Emotional support for people
Phillip needs resources that provide emotional support for people with PTSD and other related mental disorders. I would investigate PTSD centers within the region and advise Phillip to join one of them for regular counseling and emotional support. I would also consider support groups where people with similar conditions come together to share their experiences and symptoms and encourage one another to live positively (LoSavio et al., 2017). Phillip has troublesome experiences and memories about the accident that makes him lack confidence and satisfaction with himself. By joining a group with other patients and counselors, he would help reduce the memories and promote positivity. Additionally, I would ask his family members to support him by cheering him up and helping him remain positive.
Question 5
Phillip would benefit from therapy to improve his general behavior, mood and reduce intrusive thoughts and memories of the accident. Therefore, I would refer him to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). The treatment helps patients identify negative thought patterns that affect their behaviors and emotions and change with a therapist (LoSavio et al., 2017). Phillip’s negative thoughts related to the accident, and they regularly disturb his emotional wellbeing. A therapist would take him through the thoughts and experiences and replace them with positive ones
