Question: 1
Internet security is very important for protecting sensitive information, and that’s why Ellen has to consider various issues and methods in order to secure her online products. Most of the issues can arise from copyright laws and are worth considering for Ellen. The first major issue can arise from the originality of ideas and content. For example, Ellen has to make sure that her ideas and content she used in her websites must be original and non-plagiarized. Similarly, she has to make sure that she is not making use of any copyrighted material that can violate the intellectual property laws. If she wants to imitate information, she needs permission to use the content of other authors.
Furthermore, any online game she will be displaying on her website should be propriety, i.e.; Ellen has to give proper credit to the original owner of these games displayed on her website. If she does not seek approval from owners of the games, she can land legal troubles for unauthorized use of other content. It is required for her to ask for authorization and protect her information using different methods such as digital watermarks and digital signatures.
Section 2:
SaaS refers to Software-as-a-service, which is a software licensing that provides access to certain software on a subscription basis. This can be done by using external servers where each user will have access to different programs via the internet or cloud without fulfilling the need to install on their operating systems. Rather, they can just access those apps remotely using the internet. For example, Microsoft 365, Zendesk, Oracle, and Amazon Web Services are some of the common applications that use SaaS technology and allow users to access their services online without even installing the main software on their computers. Microsoft 365 contains Microsoft products such as Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Access, and other related apps that users can utilize online for a monthly fee instead of installing the complete package on their operating systems. SaaS has removed the need for separate installation of software on all computers; instead, all users within an organization can use the software online.
