  1. Describe how gender role differences might impact the development of an individual’s personality. Explain how this information would be beneficial to know when using assessment tools. Explain how gender roles have affected the development of your personality.

In many societies, women play the role of raising children; therefore are more involved in nurturing, are emotional, agreeable, and cautious. On the other hand, men are more interested in obtaining viable mating chances; hence they possess more risk-taking, aggression, and assertiveness. This information would help examine various assessment techniques as some depend on adapting to the present circumstance and assessment, depending on mental projection. In contrast, some depend on a person’s past, wherein all this information is essential (Hopwood & Waugh, 2019). As a more inclined to roles of bread wining to raising children, this has promoted a risk-taking and a more aggressive personality to earn a living.

  1. After reviewing the many different assessment tools/techniques we have discussed throughout the course:

  1. Explain one tool/technique you like the most.

I like objective technique because it depends on other people, such as observers or judges, to tell the subject’s overt behavior to understand their personality (Schmitt et al., 2016). The subject is observed under certain life situations such as the workplace where their particular habits, needs traits, and other characteristics like sociability and independence are brought into play and observed.

  1. Explain which personality theory it is derived from.

It is derived from the behavioral theory, which suggests that personality results from the interaction between the individuals such as workmates and the environment, which is in the workplace. In this case, the measurable and observable behavior can be observed to identify a person’s personality.

  1. Explain why you chose this tool/technique.

I choose this technique because it examines an individual/subject’s behaviors on their own rather than involving genetically related details, including related people and their mental condition and past circumstances, to describe the subject’s personality.

  1. Summarize the advantages and disadvantages of this technique/tool.

In summary, this technique’s advantage is that it is reliable as respondents who falsify answers to improve their results, for example, in an interview, can be identified and re-examined. Also, it concentrates on the subject themselves at the moment in the given circumstance measuring their capability to adapt to situations. This technique’s disadvantage is that it does not examine inertial feelings, mood, and thought, which impact personality.
