A law institutionalizing gay marriage will merely strengthen a healthy social trend. I agree with Sullivan because it has become more common for gay people to recognize their love openly. More and more have committed themselves to each other for life in full view of their families and friends. Their dream is not to be doomed to a life in isolation, removed from one of society’s oldest institutions. In the eyes of the constitution, they call for equal dignity. The right is given to them by the constitution.
