In article 23, The Families on the Fault Line, a story is given of the Bardolino Family. This family consists of Marianne and Tony Bardolino, a couple who seemed to have a well-grounded life. However, this was not true since they had unstable jobs. For three months, Tony had been unemployed from a chemical plant company where he had been earning a living for the past ten years. On the other hand, Marianne worked in a telephone company for the night shifts and always dreamt of affording a new kitchen every day. In addition to that, she always worked without complaint, which was evident with her two children who did well in school.

Tony’s unemployment was a big scare to his family as well as a source of guilt for Marianne, who drove away from her husband with her nagging. This led to both anxiety and depression of both parties. The couple fought a lot on the matter of Tony’s employment since he didn’t want a job that was not like the previous one, a concept that Marianne did not understand. Tony resulted in drinking a little too much and was therefore absent from his family. Later on, Tony moves to Los Angeles, where he lives a life full of shame and guilt for working out on his family, and just as Marianne kept blaming him for everything, he also was blaming himself.

DIVERSITY WITHIN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILIES: ARTICLE 25

In article 25, Diversity within the African American Families, Donald Tyler wrote on his reflections. He was inspired by his observation and surprising literature of social science that the media presented of the African American families. He wrote this topic of research more than two decades ago, where he knew most of the African American families in the large Southern city where he grew up. Using the analysis and characterization of these African American families, he read various authoritative and scholars’ various accounts. The few authoritative accounts he read acknowledged the diversity in the behaviors, ethnicity, class, and regions within the African Americans’ communities and families.

In this article, racism was practiced, and the African American families were constrained from working and living with one another despite their circumstances or means of living. Most of the North-East African American families were more segregated than the families from the south, especially in their socio-economic status. The level of concentrated poverty among African American families was more prevalent in that it was similar to both families in the North and South. Influence of history, culture, political, social, and economic forces influenced the stability of the white families, hence minimizing African American countries’ functionality.

DIVERSITY WITHIN LATINO FAMILIES: ARTICLE 26

In article 26, Diversity within Latino Families: New Lessons for Family Social Science, Maxine Baca Zinn and Barbara Wells simplified fir the scholar’s important questions that needed to be explored, especially for those who were looking forward to knowing and understanding shifts reshaping society, that is, the social and demographic shifts. These questions needed to explain who Latinos were and how their presence would affect the US society. Understanding the diversity in families is a terrifying task because most efforts lack central and become problematic. In addition to that, the field lacks the equipment to deal with such differences in theory.

In a Latino setup, families were arranged and treated exceptionally based on culture to achieve family development. Due to delays in the emulation of the Western patterns of family development, they were left behind on the family’s modification. Mexican origin families were isolated from social life, and this was how such families were analyzed. To fight structural functionality, as a critic in the Mexican families, new studies have been introduced to challenge the old notion that family life is disorganized. Economic orders are influenced greatly by family diversity in that the multiplication of the types of household influences the economy in the world.
