Purpose
I would like my boss –a restaurant owner of three large establishments in South Florida- to provide me with purpose as a motivational tactic. To me, the biggest source of motivation one can imagine is discovering your purpose in life. Once an individual has established their purpose, they cannot wait to get out of bed and continue working on their life’s work without groaning and grumbling. Purpose involves spending every waking minute on one’s life work. One will not require any other form of distraction to stay interested in life because when one finds their purpose, they will never get bored.
Finding my purpose is the most effective way of motivating me since it will connect me to a cause larger than myself. This will unlock the highest level of motivation with me, prompting me to continually maximize my input in a given aspect to attain optimum output. Having a sense of purpose will also enable me to care about the outcome of my work continuously. This will ensure that the quality of my work remains at the highest levels possible. With purpose, I can be inspired to stretch goals, get out of my comfort zone, and tackle impossible challenges.
For example, I think that my boss managed to find out his purpose in life, and that is why he turned on a new leaf. Previously, he was down and out after succumbing to addiction. However, he stumbled upon a cause larger than himself, which prompted him to turn his life around and become a force to reckon with in the restaurant business. In conclusion, it is critical for everyone to realize that they have a purpose in life. Therefore, their task is to unlock their purpose and strive to be the best version of themselves.
