Question 1: Approaches to Management
Using a hierarchical communication model involves using a team-oriented leadership approach, essential in providing solutions that affect the WBA. The model has been critically important for the president and vice president in delegating duties to curb doping. The director of the organization has been able to involve teamwork to coordinate with agencies engaged in implementing anti-doping measures for the sportsmen. Besides, employing Maslow’s hierarchy needs a theory of motivation to achieve the organization’s needs. The achievement of the goals means that there will be increased revenue, which will ensure that the organization provides anti-doping. In this regard, the use of appropriate leadership helps in preventing unfair competition. Using a teamwork leadership-oriented style will ensure that the organization could examine and determine factors leading to doping. For instance, its research department has recommended that boxers with a high level of banned substances take appropriate actions against the group of players. Besides, the use of the hierarchy needs theory has enabled the organization’s employees to ensure that they identify perpetrators and take corrective action, which is to act as a deterrent against future perpetrators. It has enabled WBA to improve its standard of practice, better working conditions for boxers, and better pay for the athletes.
Question 2: Evaluation of if the Organization was Effective in Resolving the Issue
The organization has anti-doping measures, which are used by managers, directors, and boxers. These guidelines have been effective in eliminating the issue of doping among fighters. In this regard, the organization’s efficacy has been enhanced to remove the problem and remove unfair competition (Wu, Bayer & Lenten, 2016). However, the doping issue still occurs among boxers and also other sports.
