Comparison between Amazon and Woolworths

Amazon applied various innovative ideas in SCM operations as well as other business operations such as manufacturing and marketing. Woolworths is also implementing a similar principle to augment sales and profitability. Amazon faces challenges regarding inventory management, and distribution or shipping methods, which mostly occur due to lack of monitoring and technical knowledge. The firm modifies the operational structure according to customer feedback. On the other hand, Woolworths faces technical difficulties in managing operation and retaining customers (Garrett, Gil, & Valentim, 2015). Woolworths also changes its operational strategy according to customer’s feedback and demands. Thereby, it is clear that all organizations face various difficulties in operation and SCM. For conquering over the competitive market, these organizations should design alternative plans and execute them.
