Professional development has had some challenges in the education sector. As such some issues need to be addressed such include, incompetent planning, lack of facilitation, and wrong timing of the professional development programs.
My opinion is that in every profession, professional development is very essential in the improvement of the performance of the employees.
To ensure that the system of education is effective it is critical to make sure that employees in the profession are regularly equipped with necessary knowledge and skills through training. When the workers were offered the job, they had the qualifications, but it important to keep inducting them to ensure that their productivity is improved. In some other instance the professional development programs are arranged, but their implementation becomes a challenge thus ineffective and bring about frustrations to the employees as well as other stakeholders. As such it would be wise for every institution to embrace the program since it helps in placing the employees at a position where they are in line with the changing world.
