Hi,
I found your work quite enticing as you capture most of the essential lessons in the Video by Mary Bassett. From a glance, Bassett illustrates the structural and systematic inequalities that exist in the world. For example, her presence in Zimbabwe served as an eye-opener to the health disparities across the globe. HIV was spreading at a high rate, but due to social injustices, she was afraid to speak out due to consequences after being in a foreign country. The video was indeed insightful and reflected on the social inequalities that exist in the health sector in America and the world. Also, I agree with your response on the existence of systematic problems in America. Due to social injustice, most black men lose their lives or disappear anonymously.
Further, racism has taken over American systems where the blacks attend less funded schools while their survival in their early stages of growth is also limited. Lastly, I support your suggestion to rectify the system by educating the community. Starting at an individual’s level is crucial as it influences society gradually. Hence, your response was captivating.
