Human beings are created with the need to feel a sense of belonging and acceptance. It is this inward need that forces people to want to be connected to others. The closeness individuals feel can be between family, friends, neighbors, or colleagues. The family is the losest unit in every person’s life because it is the first place we find ourselves when we are born. Friendship comes later when we interact with those we meet outside our families. Both relationships are essential in our lives, but one is more important than the other. This paper aims to look at why the family is more important than friends.
The family is more important than friends since it is the first unit that provides care, love, and support from childhood to old age. We meet friends later in life, and some may not stick with us to death. Our family members are more accepting of our positive and negative behaviour because they understand that there is nothing they can do to change us. However, friends can hate our vices and not want to associate with us at some point in life. Family members are a; always supportive and tolerant of who we are.
Also, family members always stick together even after they have had differences, but friends may choose to walk away. The forgiving nature of family is higher than that of friends who can always leave you in case of misunderstandings.
In conclusions, the family unit is close and supportive than friendship. The family is a pillar in times of need. The family also understand and accept one’s weaknesses more than friends can.
